Upload requested files as a client
Select and send requested audio files from your Mixhaus client portal, then confirm that the studio received them.
Use the private portal link from your studio. You do not need a Mixhaus account, but you must verify the email address your studio added as a client contact.
Open the project portal
- Open the portal link from the studio's email.
- If you see Verify your email, enter the address your studio added in Email, then select Send code.
- Check your inbox for the six-digit code. Enter it in Verification code, then select Open portal.
- If you used the wrong address, select Change email and start again. To request another code, select Resend code after the countdown ends. The button first shows Resend in 30s.
- Choose the project that contains the request. In the project, select File requests. Select All projects to return to the project list.
Choose a request
- On File requests, find Requested by the studio.
- Select a request to see its title and instructions under Add your files. If there is more than one request, complete them one at a time.
- If a request shows Replacement needed, read What the studio needs changed before selecting a file. A replacement request accepts one file and must be sent separately from new files.
An open request shows Needs sending. After a submission, it shows With studio. A closed request shows Archived.
The portal accepts audio files with these extensions:
- WAV
- MP3
- FLAC
- M4A
- AAC
- OGG
The chooser's helper text says WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A or AAC. OGG is also accepted by the upload service. The current client uploader does not show a size limit for one file or a maximum number of files. The studio's storage quota still applies to the combined selection.
Select your files
- In Add your files, drag files into Drop audio files here on a desktop browser, or select Browse files. On a phone, select Browse files to use the device's file picker.
- Check the selected filenames and the total size shown below the drop area.
- Select the remove button beside any file you do not want to send. Its accessible label is Remove followed by the filename.
- For a replacement, select only the new file. The drop area changes to Drop the replacement here.
- If the studio needs context, enter it in Note for the studio (optional). The placeholder is Anything the studio should know about these files?
The Send to studio button stays disabled until at least one file is selected.
Send the files
- Select Send to studio.
- Keep the page open while the button shows Uploading.... The progress area is labelled Sending and shows one percentage for the complete selection.
- Wait for the upload to finish. With multiple files, the percentage covers the files as they are sent.
When the upload completes, Mixhaus shows a success notification:
- Files uploaded
- The studio has been notified.
The selected files and note are cleared from the form. The selected request shows With studio, and its upload area shows All caught up! with the message, "Your files are with the studio. Any comments or replacement requests will appear here."
Check your submission
Open Upload history for the selected request. Each received submission shows its date, filenames, file sizes, and any note you sent. A completed file is marked Received. You can select the play control beside an uploaded audio file to listen to it in the portal.
The studio receives the files as one submission and can review them in the project. If the studio requests a change, the request shows Replacement needed, the studio's comment, and the original file. Upload one replacement against that request. The earlier file remains in history and is marked Previous version after the replacement is received.
If the studio has closed the request, it remains in history with an Archived label and no longer accepts new files.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Upload audio files only. | Choose a file ending in .wav, .mp3, .flac, .m4a, .aac, or .ogg. |
| Verify your client portal access to upload files. | Your portal session may have expired. Open the portal link again, verify the contact email, and retry the upload. |
| This upload would exceed the storage quota. | Remove some files from the selection or ask the studio to make space. Then select Send to studio again. |
| Too many uploads started. Try again soon. | Wait before starting another submission, then try again. |
| This upload request is no longer accepting files. | Ask the studio to reopen the request or send a new one. |
| The studio must request a replacement before more files can be uploaded. | The initial submission has already arrived. Wait for the studio to request a replacement, or ask the studio what to send next. |
| Upload failed or Uploaded file could not be found. Try uploading it again. | Check your connection and select Send to studio again. The selected files stay in the form after a failed attempt. |
| Could not finish receiving this upload. | Refresh the portal and check Upload history before resubmitting. If the submission is not there, select Send to studio again. Contact the studio if the error continues. |
| Portal unavailable | Select Retry once. If the portal remains unavailable, ask the studio for a fresh link. |
There is no separate retry control for a file upload. After fixing the problem, use Send to studio again.
On a phone
The portal uses the same project link on mobile. The request list and uploader stack vertically, and the action button fills the available width. Use Browse files rather than drag and drop, select one request at a time, and scroll down to Upload history to confirm what the studio received.
