Check what the client downloaded

Review package activity, completed downloads, and the client's receipt confirmation after publishing a delivery.

Before you start

Publish the delivery first and give the client a chance to open it. You need project management access to view the studio delivery record. Download activity appears after the delivery is available, even when the client has not downloaded anything yet.

1. Open the delivery record

  1. From Projects, open the project.
  2. Open Review & Delivery.
  3. Select the delivered track. Its lifecycle state is Delivered and its action is Update Final Delivery.
  4. Select Update Final Delivery to open the current delivery record.

You can also open the delivery from Clients when you are already working in a client's project workspace. The record keeps the package controls and activity together.

2. Read Package activity

Scroll below the package controls to Package activity. Mixhaus shows three values:

download requests · completed · package status

For example, 2 download requests · 2 completed · package complete means Mixhaus recorded two item download requests and both finished. It does not necessarily mean the client selected Download package twice. A request is recorded per downloadable item, so repeated attempts can increase the request count.

The package status is one of the following:

  • not started means no downloadable package item has completed.
  • partial means at least one downloadable item has completed, but not every downloadable item has completed for the same client.
  • complete means Mixhaus recorded completed downloads for every downloadable file in the package.

The activity card also shows when the delivery was published and who published it. When all downloadable files are complete, it says All downloadable files were downloaded by [contact].

Package activity records requests, completed downloads, and the package status.
When every downloadable file is complete, Mixhaus offers the next project action.
Open the saved delivery from Review and delivery to check its package activity.

3. Check the client's portal view

The project delivery page uses this route shape:

/portal/[token]/projects/[projectId]/deliveries

The portal dashboard also has a top-level Deliveries page at /portal/[token]/deliveries.

On the project page, the client selects Deliveries and opens Final delivery. The page shows a Ready badge, the package file counts, and Download package when downloads are enabled. The client can select Play [filename] for supported audio when playback is enabled.

The client portal shows the ready delivery and package tree used to download final files.

4. Use the receipt confirmation

Downloading and confirming receipt are separate signals. After the client checks the ZIP, they can select I’ve received everything under Got the complete package?. Mixhaus then shows Delivery received and tells the client that the studio has been notified.

Back in the studio delivery record, the activity card shows [contact] confirmed receipt [date]. A confirmed receipt takes precedence over the download-only completion message.

Do not ask the client to confirm until they have checked the downloaded files. The confirmation records that they received everything, but it does not approve a review version and it does not replace the ZIP manifest.

Expected result

You can tell whether the client has started, completed, or explicitly confirmed the final package. When all downloadable files are complete or the client confirms receipt, the studio record shows a completion banner with Archive project.

Archiving keeps the project's files, review history, delivery record, and invoice history. It does not settle or change an outstanding invoice.

What happens next

If the package is complete, archive the project when your work is finished. If the client reports a missing file, use Add stems and extra files to a delivery to prepare an updated package, then follow Prepare and publish a final delivery to publish it.

Common problems

Package activity says not started

The client may not have selected Download package, downloads may be disabled, or the package request may not have finished. Check the Downloads switch in Client access and ask the client to use the current Deliveries page.

The request count is higher than expected

Mixhaus records download requests per downloadable item. A retry or second download can create another request, so the count is not a unique client count.

The package is partial

At least one downloadable item finished, but one or more files have not. Ask the client to let the package finish and check the ZIP again. Playback does not count as a download.

The client cannot confirm receipt

If the delivery changed after the client opened it, the receipt form may say This delivery changed. Refresh it before confirming receipt. Ask the client to refresh the page, review the current package, and select I’ve received everything again.

The receipt control is not shown in a studio preview. The client must open the verified portal session.

The package is no longer available

An unpublished, revoked, replaced, or expired delivery cannot be downloaded. Publish the current delivery again or send the client the current portal link.
