Review a mix as a client

Open the review link

Use the private link from your producer, engineer, or studio. You do not need a Mixhaus account.

If Mixhaus asks for access, enter Your name and Your email, then select Open review. Use the email address the studio added as a client contact. If the studio protected the link with a password, enter it too. A client portal can open the review directly after you verify your email there.

After the review opens, the page shows Private client review and the name you are reviewing as. Only the versions the studio selected for this review appear. The version marked Latest shared is the newest version sent to you. It may not be the studio's newest private draft.

Listen to the mix

1. Select the play button beside the track. The waveform may take a moment to load the first time.
2. Select or tap a point on the waveform to move the playhead there.
3. Select the play button again to pause. Select it again to resume.

For a project with several tracks, select Play all to play the latest shared version of each track in order. Pause and Resume control the project queue.

If a playback format label appears above the waveform, select it to choose an available format. If Atmos playback is not supported on your device, Mixhaus can switch to the Binaural review render.

Move between tracks and versions

For a project review, select a track in Shared with you. The row shows its latest shared version, comment count, decision state, and duration. Select the row again to collapse its review area.

Use the Review version dropdown beside the player, or select a version in the Versions list or Revision timeline. Earlier shared versions stay available for comparison. Selecting a version changes the player, feedback list, and waveform markers to that version.

To hear two revisions together, select Compare versions. See Compare two versions of a mix for the comparison controls.

If the studio enabled downloads, Download appears beside the review actions. If stems are shared for the selected version, Download stems appears too. If neither button appears, the studio has not enabled that download for this review.

Leave feedback

Type feedback in the Add feedback... box, then select Post feedback. Press Enter to post. Press Shift+Enter when you want a new line instead.

For feedback tied to a moment or short passage, use timestamped feedback. Your comment appears with the selected version. Timestamped comments also show as markers below its waveform.

Approve the version or request changes

When you are the designated approver, use the controls beside the player:

• Select Approve version when this version is ready.
• Select Request changes when the studio needs another pass.

You can update your decision later. Add comments before requesting changes so the studio knows what to change.

If you do not see these buttons, you can still leave feedback. The studio has reserved formal approval for another project contact. See Approve a mix or request changes for the decision flow.

For a project review, make a decision for each track that needs one. The summary shows how many tracks are approved, need changes, or are waiting. After you add a comment or decision, select Submit review. The button changes to Review submitted after the project review is sent.

Use the review on a phone

Open the same link in your phone's browser. Tap Play, tap the waveform to seek, and use the feedback box below the player. Type a timestamp when you need to point to an exact moment. The desktop waveform gestures are covered in Leave timestamped feedback.

The project track list, version controls, comments, and decision buttons stack for a narrow screen. You can review one track at a time without creating an account.

What happens next

Mixhaus confirms the action after it succeeds. You will see Version approved, Changes requested, or Project review submitted, and the person who shared the review can see the same comments and decision in the project record.

Your review link remains the place to listen to the versions that were sent. If the studio publishes another version, it appears there when they add it to the review.

If the review will not open

• If Mixhaus says the email is not listed as a contact, use the address the studio invited. Ask the studio to add or restore that contact if it is the right address.
• If the review asks for a password, ask the studio for the current password. A wrong password shows That password is not correct.
• If the page says Review unavailable, select Retry once your connection is stable.
• An expired, revoked, or removed review link cannot be reopened from your side. Ask the studio for a fresh link.

If a comment or decision fails, keep the text on the page and try again. If the error continues, send the studio the link and the action you were trying to complete.
