Choose the right way to start

Start with a client, a project, or an existing library track and keep the work connected.

Last reviewed 4 September 2026

Choose based on what you have

  • Have the client details but no project yet? Start in Clients.
  • Have a project name and a mix ready? Start in Projects.
  • Already have a standalone track in your Library? Add it to a project from Library.
  • Need a review link for one track right away? Use the track workspace's Send for review flow.

Start with a client

Use this path when you want to establish the client relationship before deciding on the project details.

  1. Open Clients and select New client.
  2. Enter the required Client name. Add Contact name and Contact email when you have them.
  3. Leave Initial project set to No project yet, or choose an existing project to connect.
  4. Select Create client.

The new client workspace opens after creation. Select New project to create a project with that client already selected. Enter Project Title, choose a Type, set Privacy, and select Create project.

Create the client first when the relationship matters before the project details.

Start with a project

Use this path when you know the project and already have a mix, or plan to add files after creating the project.

  1. Open Projects and select Create Project.
  2. Enter Project Title.
  3. Choose a Type: Album, EP, Single, or Playlist.
  4. Choose Privacy: Private keeps the project restricted; choose Public only when that is intentional.
  5. In Client, choose No client, an existing client, or Create new client. If you create a client here, enter its Client name and any available contact details.
  6. Select Create project.

The project is added to Projects. Open it and select Add Songs to add files, then use Review & Delivery when the track is ready for review.

Start in Projects when the project details are already clear.

Turn a standalone track into a project

Use this path when the track is already in your Library and you want to keep its existing file attached to a project.

  1. Open Library.
  2. Open the track's action menu and select Add to Project.
  3. To use an existing project, choose it from Select Project and select Add 1 file.
  4. To create a project, select Create New Project. Enter Project Title, choose the Type and Privacy, optionally choose a Client, and select Create & Add.

The track is attached to the selected or new project. You can continue the project workflow from its Overview and Review & Delivery views.

Open a track's actions to connect the existing file to a project.
Use the one-track review shortcut when the client only needs to hear this track.

Common choices

  • Do not create a second copy of a track that is already in Library. Use Add to Project so the existing file stays connected.
  • Start with Clients when the client relationship matters before the project exists.
  • Start with Projects when the project is ready to receive files, even if you do not have a client yet.
  • Use Send for review for the one-track shortcut. Use Add to Project when you want to choose the project setup first.

Next step

When you are ready to take one project from setup through delivery, follow Run your first project in Mixhaus.
